Masha Quality Holdings – Kween

We celebrate the journey of Masha Quality Holdings, a development partner driven by a vision to produce specialty Arabica coffee defined by excellence at every stage of the value chain. Through its partnership with Uganda Development Bank (UDB), this vision has grown beyond processing coffee. It is transforming farming communities, creating jobs, and strengthening Uganda’s position in premium global coffee markets.

Masha accessed working capital and financing for solar dryers, enabling improved post-harvest handling, better quality preservation, and timely pre-harvest advances to farmers, alongside competitive prices for their produce. What began as humble growth has evolved into confident expansion, with the company now creating value at scale.

The impact is measurable:

  • 23 jobs currently supported, with expansion to 50 jobs expected as the second washing station becomes fully operational
  • Increased export earnings through premium specialty coffee markets

Beyond the business, the transformation reaches households:

  • Farmers receive technical training, farm inputs, and timely advances
  • Increased and more stable incomes from specialty coffee
  • Stronger rural livelihoods and local economic activity

For farmers like Sabila Alfred, coffee is no longer just a crop, it is the foundation for generational progress. Eight years of coffee farming, combined with Masha’s guidance and financial backing, have enabled him to expand his farms, build a permanent home, and see four of his children graduate from university and see how development finance turns potential into lasting impact.
