As we celebrate the success of one of our development partners, Nyakahita Dairy Cooperative stands out with a clear and powerful vision: to produce milk that is not just good, but truly exceptional. With determination and support from Uganda Development Bank, this vision has grown beyond the farm, transforming the livelihoods of farmers, strengthening the local economy, and creating opportunities that extend far beyond milk production.
Today, the cooperative brings together 128 farmers with a guaranteed and ready market for their milk, turning daily production into reliable income and long-term opportunity.
Through access to affordable and patient financing, farmers have improved their farms, adopted modern dairy practices, and increased milk production. Value addition has unlocked new possibilities: yoghurt, ghee, cheese, and other dairy products are now within reach, strengthening the entire value chain.
Beyond the farm, the impact is visible across the community:
