She is currently serving as the Director Global Data Management at Finca Impact Finance. Rita Apell joined Finca International in 2012 as the Regional IT Director for Africa Region and Head of the Africa shared services centre after which she took on the Director Global Program Management office in 2020 before taking on the current Global Data role in January 2022.

Prior to joining Finca impact Finance, Rita Apell led Technology departments in Centenary Bank, Commercial Microfinance, Nile Bank, Barclays Bank and East African Development Bank. She brings with her a wealth of experience as a senior Information Technology (IT) Professional with over 20 years of Technology management and Leadership experience with a track record of managing and supporting the development and maintenance of enterprise applications, infrastructure, and service delivery of IT-enabled business solutions for both private and multinational financial institutions with a passion for Technology Risk Management and people development. Rita holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Herriot Watt University, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics & Physics from Makerere University.
